Saptashrungi (“seven peaks”) is one of the important Shakti Peethas of Maharashtra, home to an eighteen-armed idol of the goddess carved into the mountain face. The hill shrine draws large crowds during Navratri and Chaitra festivals. A funicular ropeway now eases the final ascent.
